Hicham Aboutaam runs the New York City gallery

Hicham Aboutaam is co-founder of Phoenix Ancient Art with his brother, Ali. They took over the business together from their father in 1998. Their father, Sleiman, started the company in 1968 in Beirut. As Hicham recalls when he was a kid, “My mother would tell my father, It’s time to go sleep. Would you please remove that head from our bed?”

Hicham attended the University of Michigan where he earned a degree in art history. He runs the New York City gallery, Electrum.
